Abstract

This paper is devoted to the philosophical analysis of the meanings and role of symbols in the international communications among different societies, cultures and civilizations. The main goal is to give the definition of the concept “symbol” in the context of different theoretical approaches to the understanding of the essential nature of this cultural phenomenon and to elaborate on its significance in the present day.
